AWANA Lessons
Wednesday night I got to do the Bible lesson for our AWANA clubs. It was supposed to be the story of the prodigal son from Luke 15. I figured that many of them already knew the story, so I brought props and gave one to each of the kids. Then, I told the story and had them act it out complete with confetti for the party when the father welcomes the son home. They enjoyed it I think. It got me to thinking about God's mercy and forgiveness. It is truly undeserved. Somehow even though I know this, I always feel that surely this time I've done too much. He won't forgive. Yet, 1 John 1:9 is a promise: "He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. . . ." We can never sin too much for God to forgive. That's an amazing concept.
